Advanced Ministerial Studies (AMS)
INTRODUCTION
The Church of God by Faith Theological Institute is committed to providing spiritual training to men and women of God in a structured learning environment with the expressed purpose of equipping them for ministry within the Kingdom of God.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This program allows ordained or consecrated ministers to enroll in an organized continuing education program. Only ministers who are already ordained or consecrated may apply. This program is for 36-credit hours including 27-credit-hours of required courses and 9-credit-hours of electives.
ONLINE INSTRUCTION
Live, online instructions is the method of delivery for all classes. Students are required to have basic computer skills to benefit from CTI programs. Students from all over the country will login to enjoy quality instructions by well-trained as well as credentialed instructors.
TUITION COSTS
Tuition information can be found here.
HOW TO ENROLL
To enroll, students must first enroll in CTI by paying your $30.00 Application Fee and completing the Online Application
ONLY FOR PREVIOUSLY ORDAINED OR CONSECRATED MINISTERS
After students have completed their 60-hours in a CTI Program or have been ordained or consecrated through the Examining Board, they are eligible to apply. Again, only ministers or elders who are already ordained may apply.
HOW AMS PROGRAMS DIFFERS FROM 60-HOUR PROGRAMS
This program does not substitute or replace the 60 credit-hours of coursework required to become a certified minister, nor the 120 credit-hours of required courses to become an ordained pastor. The AMS programs serves as continuing education for ordained/consecrated ministers wanting to specialize in one of six areas of study; Ministerial Studies, Evangelism, Teaching, and Lay-Christian Counseling. These ministers are not limited to specializing in only one area of study but may pursue multiple certifications under this program.
AMS PROGRAM GRADUATION
Upon completion of the 36-hour AMS Program, students will be awarded a certificate with the regular graduating class of CTI. However, AMS graduates will NOT be ordained or consecrated a second time.
BEFORE YOU CHOOSE A MAJOR
Students should think and pray carefully before choosing a major to add diversity to their spiritual training. Please consider this before choosing:
- If you have completed a ministry certification in one program, consider an AMS in a different major.
- Do not choose an AMS program that is filled with courses you have already taken, which is not allowed.
- If you decide to choose a program with several courses you have already taken, you must contact the registrar for a customized degree audit.
- You must complete 36-hours of credit beyond your ministerial certifications.
- Students who complete an AMS or CPC qualify for the CTI Master’s Program.
